Fuel Efficiency - Whether in our diesel or hybrid lines, DesignLine constructs its vehicles with advanced extruded aluminum technology (similar to that employed in light rail cars) thereby achieving greater strength and frame life while substantially reducing vehicle weight. The end result is what we believe to be the most fuel efficient vehicle available.
Zero / Reduced Emissions – While our pure electric buses are obviously zero emission, the hybrid technology developed by DesignLine can also operate in “zero emission” mode for several hours a day. Even when our auxiliary power unit engages, the emissions from a DesignLine bus are substantially reduced over other hybrid systems simply because DesignLine expended the additional time and money necessary to craft a hyper-efficient system that can operate with a simple 4-cylinder engine. With DesignLine as a manufacturing partner, public transport can be reliable and sustainable, while also remaining environmentally friendly and energy efficient.
